As a newborn photographer in Tampa, my job is to capture these beautiful, fleeting moments of your baby’s first day. It’s a sacred window of time, and such an honor to be chosen to preserve it. Lately, the photography industry has been flooded with third-party AI editing software like Evoto and various automated cloud platforms. They promise to make the photographer’s job easier (which I get!) with editing in a single click.
But speed of editing should never come at the expense of security. I want to share a firm promise to my clients. I do not use a third-party generative AI program to edit your newborn photos.
While the tech world promises saving time and convenience, I prioritize something more valuable: your baby’s safety, privacy, and authenticity. Here are three reasons why a hands-on, traditional editing process matters more to me than ever before.

Your baby is a human, not AI Training Data
If you’re unsure what AI editing platforms are, I’ll walk you through the process. When your images are uploaded into a massive, cloud-based AI editing software, your photos stop being private. Many of these tech startups include clauses in their terms of service that allow them to use the uploaded data to train their program.
For me, I refuse to let your child’s face become a data point for a tech company. By keeping my workflow strictly in Photoshop and Lightroom, standard professional software for years, I know that your photos will stay local and protected.
Protecting your baby against the scary side of the internet
We live in a scary world. With generative AI there has been a shift to a darker side with deepfakes and malicious editing of images. The reality is, when your photos are uploaded into a database like this, you lose all control over where your digital image lives and your photos stop being yours. Your child’s photo can be misused by people who have bad intentions at heart.
My strict no AI policy acts as a safety shield for your family. I want you to know that as a parent, it is entirely valid to be protective of your baby’s early digital footprint. When you choose me as a Tampa newborn photographer, you deserve to know where those files are stored.
No Digital Frankenstein Edits
You may laugh at how this sounds, but AI editing software doesn’t just smooth skin and do surface level edits. They regenerate images by pulling bits and pieces of other images that have been uploaded into the system. So, instead of generating your baby, the reflect features from millions of other people and photos. I refuse to hand you a gallery made up of digital blend of stranger’s body pieces.
Your baby is unique from their skin to the tiny flakes on their hands, the soft fuzz on their face, and their true skin tones. Additionally, the moments that you make while cuddling your sweet baby in the studio are true reelections of who you are right now. I want you to look back and remember the beautiful moments with your baby, not a plastic, hyper perfected version of a baby (and family) that isn’t yours!
Hand Edited Artistry Over AI Editing Software
We live in a world where you can now type a prompt into a computer (or your phone) and instantly generate an image, but investing in a professional newborn photographer is a choice to honor real life. AI can create a flawless looking version of your baby, but it can never capture YOUR BABY.
Steering clear of using AI editing software shortcuts means that I spend hours meticulously hand editing every image. It requires a trained eye and technical skill, which is an investment. But remember that your family is worth that investment! When you book a newborn session in Tampa with me, you aren’t paying for a gallery of generated pieces of a baby; you are paying for data privacy, and timeless art of your gorgeous family.
