Nursing Pillow

Nursing pillows are helpful for proper positioning. Brands like Boppy or My Brest Friend are popular for a reason. They bring your baby up to a comfortable height, reducing strain on your back, neck, and arms. This is especially helpful in those early weeks when you’re both still learning to latch.

Comfortable Nursing Bras and Tanks

Nursing bras are designed with easy-to-use clasps or flaps for quick access. Investing in a few will make nursing on the go or in the middle of the night easy.

Nipple cream

Sore nipples are going to be common issue when breastfeeding. A high-quality nipple cream will soothe and heal your skin quickly. Choosing one that doesn’t have to be wiped off before nursing makes things easier!

Breast Milk Storage Bags

If you plan to pump, these are must-have for building your breastmilk stash. These bags are designed to be frozen and then thawed, ensuring your breastmilk remains safe and ready for the bottle. Looking for a double zip seal is best for preventing leaks.

A quality Breast Pump

If you plan to breast feed exclusively, I still recommend a pump. These help with engorgement, stimulates milk supply, and allows for other caregivers to feed baby.

Nursing Pads

Milk leaks are normal and a reality for many breastfeeding moms. Nursing pads are essential for preventing any accidents.

Reusable Water Bottle

Having a easy to drink water bottle by your side is going to help with maintaining your milk supply and staying hydrated. You’ll be surprised how thirsty you get!

Milk Catchers

While nursing pads absorb leaks, a milk catcher can catch milk that leaks from the opposite breast during your feeding. It uses gentle suction to collect.

Breast Therapy Packs

These therapy packs can be used warm to help with milk let-down and relieve any clogged ducts, or you can use it cold to soothe engorgement and soreness.

A Breastfeeding Station

A Breastfeeding station with a couch or rocking chair is going to be the place you use the most. This area should include things like a phone charger, burp cloths, snacks, and anything you’ll need so you can sit without getting up mid feed.
