Dresses and skirts are a fun way to show movement in your photos while giving a romantic vibe. Movement in photos makes your images visually interesting and are a must!
Fitted solid colored pants work best for dad or a nice pair of denim jeans. I recommend staying away from busy stripes, any graphics, and be careful on your thin plaids because it creates the “moire” effect in camera which makes the pattern look wonky.
When considering color, cuts, and patterns here are a few tips:
Color: I recommend going with earthly tones that compliment the background with a pop of color.
The camera loves: reds, blues, greens, pinks, and khakis. These earthly color palettes fit beautifully into any natural outdoor setting and most indoor homes (newborn).
Fabrics: remember that your faces, expressions, and moments are what we want to focus on when we are viewing our images. Fabrics with loud colors, patterns, and bold shapes will distract from that. I recommend going with dresses that give moment and are flowy with a solid color.

I suggest maxi length dresses or gowns to keep the eye moving down and create a silhouette that flatters the body.
